POTTERY PARTIES
For ‘Friends & Family’

Maximum of 6 people

Class price is £240 (maximum of 6 participants)
Price includes all materials, glazing and firing charges.

PINCH POTS
Pinch pots are created by using your hands to shape the clay. Pinch pots are some of the oldest archaeological artefacts found on the planet.

Join two pinch pots together to shape them into birds and animals or to create a lidded trinket box. Alternatively, make small pots for succulents or dipping bowls or larger ones for the table.

We should have time during the session to decorate your pot(s) with coloured slips. Alternatively, complete your piece with a choice of glazes.

MASKS

Using a simple pinched oval shape to create the mask, clay is pinched and added to create a portrait, an animal face or a creature from your imagination.

A perfect project for families, the masks look very striking grouped together.

There may be time within the session to add detail with coloured slips. Alternatively, complete your piece with a choice of glazes.

BAS RELIEF DECORATED TILES

Bas relief is sort of flat and sort of 3D.
Using ready prepared tile shapes, create relief tiles by a mix of carving in to the tile and adding clay to provide raised shapes.

Simple shapes such as birds, animals and flowers work well and it would be a good plan to come with a few ideas for your design.

You should have time to make a couple of tiles or work as a group to create your own clay relief wall panel.

There may be time within the session to add detail with coloured slips. Alternatively, complete your piece with a choice of glazes.

Choose from an exciting range of potter’s wheel, coiled, slab & pinch-pot projects. Use coloured slips to decorate your masterpiece, then leave your work to be fired and available for collection at a later date. A perfect birthday activity with a unique and lasting memento.

“We attended a mixed child/adult pottery wheel session and everyone had a fantastic time and even the youngest (aged 5) managed to produce a couple of bowls. The tutor was fantastically patient with us all and we’ll definitely be booking more sessions in the future.”

“The children loved their pottery lesson. The Art House is an excellent venue, the teachers were very patient, and made the class great fun. Everyone was a complete novice and everyone managed to make two pots. A great result!. Thank you.”

Hen Parties

Looking for a totally memorable and unique hen party experience?

Relax and have fun in the pottery studio given over solely to your use. Come and make pots on the potter’s wheel, create tea lights or vases for the wedding day or make and paint personalised pottery for the bride and groom to be!

Generally the sessions are for a two hour period (but we will try to accommodate your preference).

“The tutor was so welcoming and really positive about all our different creative talents (!). She was a great teacher, which meant that everyone came away from the session having learnt something new, made something to take home, and had a lot of fun and laughs, too!  Some of the girls are talking about signing up for a course they enjoyed it so much. Thank you!”
