IMG_1719aSheffield’s very first ‘Open Studio’ (OS) pottery is the ideal place for those who have acquired the core skills in handbuilding or throwing and have a basic understanding of decoration and the use of oxides, slips and glazes.  You can access the studio in a flexible way to meet the needs of your own timetable.

Whilst tutors and skilled volunteers are present or available during studio times OS is intended for potters who are generally able to progress projects with minimal technical input and supervision.

Wheel throwers (Top Floor Studio)
Mon: 4.30pm – 6.30pm
Tues: 10am – 3pm & 5.30pm – 9.00pm
Wed: 10am – 1pm & 5.30pm – 9.00pm
Thurs: 4.30pm – 6.30pm
Fri: 10am – 4pm

Hand-builders (First Floor Studio)
Mon: 5.30pm – 9.00pm
Tues: 10am – 3pm
Wed: 10am – 1pm & 5.30pm – 9.00pm
Thurs: 5.30pm – 9.00pm
Fri: 10am – 4pm

Please note: weekly classes may be running at the same time as some of the advertised OS times.

How do I join?
Applicants can book a 40 minute session assessment/induction with a tutor by contacting Sarah Vanic (Pottery Coordinator):  sarah.vanic@arthousesheffield.co.uk

By meeting with a tutor you have an opportunity to discuss your: previous experience, particular areas of interest and future development needs – before committing to your OS membership.

Membership levels and fees (from 1st October 2017):
8 studio hours per month:  £38 per month
12 studio hours per month:  £48 per month
18 studio hours per month:  £54 per month
24 studio hours per month:  £60 per month
