Earth & Fire Ceramics Fair 2017

BIG DAY OUT FOR US AT EARTH AND FIRE ~ BY SARAH VANIC

Had an early start with Hannah Weber and Emma Parkinson from the Art House pottery studio but must admit we really needed a good coffee before seeing any pots or sculpture.

Glorious sunny day and there was a wide selection of ceramics to view and BUY (in my case) I couldn’t resist a Richard Heeley porcelain tea bowl with graceful cobalt brushwork. Richard knows how to display and sell his work. My pot was placed in printed tissue paper, in a crafted wooden box and then placed in a hand printed paper carrier. This is really important to me because I really needed to value what I was receiving and how to treasure ceramics. I often break things as most people who know me will tell you this very unpleasant fact about me but I am turning a corner. This is going to help me down the road.  I also bought his book too which narrates his process and philosophy.

If you would to see a pic of my bowl , get in touch, info@arthousesheffield.co.uk but for now I am going to leave you with an image of work that really impressed me!

Anna Lambert, very painterly, very beautiful.
