Monoprinting is a simple printmaking technique that can be used to create prints that vary from complex multilayered colour compositions, to ones with the quality of a tonal drawing.

In essence a monoprint (or monotype) is a ‘printed painting’, however, it is so versatile it traverses and often incorporates the mediums of: printmaking, painting, drawing and collage in one image.

In the workshop you will learn techniques for adding shapes, line, colour, tone, imagery and texture, and will take home a number of unique hand-printed prints on paper.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience of printmaking and painting.

We will be using water based acrylic paints.
