In this course participants will create unique illustrations to fulfil a live brief.  The relaxed and informal sessions will take you all the way from initial rough to delivering the final artwork.
Plan and develop your project with ongoing feedback from the group, and explore the right media to bring your vision to life!

Using charcoal, pastel and gouache, participants will learn techniques in representing animals.  This class is aimed at beginners and those who have some experience in drawing and/or painting.

DRAWING FOR THE TERRIFIED with Anna Massey

This 6 week course is for complete beginners and those who feel unconfident in their drawing skills. We will start with the very basics and work step by step to gradually build up skills using a variety of media and techniques.  Over the 6 weeks we will cover

  • Techniques to see and draw accurately
  • Rules of perspective
  • Expressive mark making
  • Use of tone to convey light and form
  • Techniques in pencil, ink and charcoal

Fancy drawing as part of a relaxed sketch club? Then join ‘Drawing for Fun’! An ongoing (term time) weekly drawing club with tutor Tim Bye offering a variety of projects and themes to spark your imagination.

Try your hand at still life drawing, portraiture, cartoons, and much more.  You might be set a book or magazine article to illustrate, a scene to storyboard or a card to design.
Each group inputs their own drawing ambitions, which are transformed into real time projects… Always keeping central the fact that Drawing is FUN!

Would you like to learn how to create a Batik textile?

Come along to these sessions every second Friday to play with colour and fabric, making marks, patterns and designs using the ancient textile art of Batik. Apply hot wax onto cotton fabric with a “tjanting” or brush then add a rainbow of colour with cold water fibre reactive dyes. These classes are designed for absolute beginners and those with some experience.

MIXING MEDIA with Ali Kitley-Jones
This will course give you the opportunity to explore different types of media to see which you prefer. Watercolours, acrylics, oils and more will be explored in this 5 week course.  Ali will facilitate your work by demonstrating the media and encouraging you to be adventurous in your art!

THE ART OF INTERIOR DESIGN With Mark Beachell

This course will equip you with the core knowledge and skills to undertake interior design projects either for yourself or a client.

This is a design based course (rather than decorating), and will refine your skills to enable you to think creatively about a space. You will learn how to approach projects like a designer and how to visualise your thinking with skills such as making plans and mood boards.

You can also drop in Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm to pay in person.


Payments: All courses or workshops must be fully paid in advance and all major Cheques, Cash and Credit/Debit cards are acceptable methods of payment.

Cancellation and refunds: If you wish to cancel your place on a course you must do so at least 14 days before the course starts in order to receive a full refund. Cancellation must be made in writing or email. If you require a refund we will charge £15 administrative fee. Alternatively you may transfer your booking to another course free of charge.

If you cancel your place within 14 days of commencement you will only receive a refund of 50% course fee.

If we are forced to cancel a course then you will receive a full refund with no administrative fee deducted.
